Design Drawing – Human Figures

10th August, 2019 – The class began with an introduction to human figure drawing along with the concept of creating three dimensional blocks for understanding the human proportion better. Ms Mallick illustrated a few examples for the class and then asked us to form groups and collect at our respective workstations. Each member of the group was asked to serve as a model volunteer for the others to practise human drawing. With every new sketch, we got to understand how different postures can be drawn, having correct proportion and sizing.

The class was then asked to photograph five daytime and five night time pictures to use as reference for our next class assignment, which was make a day time and a night time composition, showing different shadows and lights using drawing pencils, etc.
