28th August, 2019 – As usual, the class began with an activity in which six students were asked to volunteer to be a part of the activity. They were asked to form a circle with one of them standing in the centre and they were made to play the trust fall game, in which the person in the centre has to make a free fall, trusting the circle that they would protect the person from falling. Ms. Seth made us play this game to tell us how trust and confidence are essential in whatever we do, be it journalism.
The class was given a lecture about video journalism and video interviewing. Ms. Seth showed us a few clips of her own video interviews at the Red Dot Awards. She told us about how eye contact, body posture and CONFIDENCE is most important during a video style interview, especially while interviewing a complete stranger. The class was then given some time to discuss about the final assignment.
