9th January, 2020 – The Integrative Studio class began with Ms. Prarthana Patil giving us the word despicable, and asked us to tell her what we understood of the word. The class came up with all sorts of meanings, including hate, dislike, etc. We then spoke of the synonyms of the word and how every word, even though having the same meaning can not be used in every situation. We were then shown a clip from FRIENDS, where Joey writes a letter for Monica and Chandler and how he uses a thesarus for every word in the letter – which made our understanding of the discussion very clear. We were then given an activity, which was to perform a skit on the word given to us – our group’s word being SERENDIPITY. The class pretty much got what we had to convey to them. Post this, we had a discussion on one of the idea’s that a few senior students had as a part of a project – to install gender neutral washrooms in a BMC setting.
