28th January, 2020 – Ms. Jigna Gada – In today’s class, we did a study on the layouts of different types of publications such as biographies, magazines and coffee book tables.
We issued some magazines and books from the library and then placed tracing sheets on a few interesting layout pages and traced around the image boxes and the text, also highlighting the different font sizes used in the layout.
We analysed that there was an equal gutter space between all columns and an equal amount of gapping on the top and bottom as well as the sides of the pages. The images were placed all between the borders, keeping the spacing in mind. The layout in the book was very uniform whereas the layout of the magazine was different for every article in it.
